Selling Out

Hi. I have decided to sell out of bunnies. I will be keeping some pets for myself, and I will be keeping one younger meat buck and purchasing a meat doe for just breeding for meat for ourself. I have already sold a lot of bunnies. I have sold Harley, Lacy, Ash, Love, Gunner, and probably a couple others I cant remember.
For pets I will be keeping Melvin, Blue, Oakey, Shasta, Gracy, Buddy, Snickerdoodle, and a new meat doe. So that will make me have only 8 rabbits, which is a HUGE cut down compared to the numbers I used to have.
My cousins are here, and they will be taking home Kitty, and Daisy, a cage, and a couple water bottles. So I will only have left to sell: Bubba, Charlie, and Sweetpea. If I cant sell Sweetpea I may end up just keeping her. So this will probably be my last post, maybe one like once a year. I will also be quitting rabbit 4-H and focusing on Horses and Pigs, because they are really what I want to focus on. :) So farewell my bunny blog followers. :) TTYL!!

The show

Hi. :) Well although I didnt get to go to the rabbit show, I heard it was very fun! Gunner won BOV, but was 1 ounce over weight, and they wouldnt allow him to show any further. Amelia said that the judge commented on how beautiful a head Gunner has. :) Im glad that he is showing well so far. I decided to post-pone registering him, because I dont really see a need for it, when I dont go to that many shows anyways.
I bred Kitty, and she is due the end of this month. I left her in with Gunner all night, and it looked like a very sucessful breeding to me! Im hoping she has a decent sized litter, as I want to keep a young doe out of her, and Amelia also wants a baby from her. :) TTYL!!

Rabbitry Is Done!!!

Hey!! =D Let me start out my saying my mom is AMAZING!!! She finished my rabbitry yesterday, while I was at school. When I say she finished it I mean she cleaned ALL the cages, took all the cages out, clean the poop behind the cages, organized bunnies, through a couple of the ratty stackers outside to be delt with later, she made all the bunnies boards that didn't have them. Gave trays to all the bunnies, and over all made it WAY more clean, organized, and very roomy! =] I will take pictures later of it. I should have gotten before and after pics if I new she was going to do that. =] Im sick today, but some fresh air might be good.
Sadly I won't be going to the show myself at all. Amelia will still be taking Gunner to show, but we are gonna take him to her house Friday. Im a little disapointed, but still excited to see how Gunner does! His coat is really nice right now, and he does a good job at keeping clean. I am getting the somewhat "yellowish" stains off the bottom of his feet with hydrogen proxide. I think im going to wait on regsitering him, since im saving up to breed my sow this month, and I dont want to put that on Amelia. =] Oh and the website is re-done also, go check it out! www.sunsetrabbitry.webs.com TTYL!

A Show!!

Hey!! =] Im soo excited, im going to the Grants Pass show this weekend!! Im taking only Top Gunner, my beautiful BEW buck. =] I love this guy, and Im hoping he does well! Luckily he got his condition back from a HORRIDE molt, so im happy. =] Sadly I wont be able to show him, because I have to attend my cousins birthday, and have my own birthday the same day, lol. Amelia Caldwell from Shasta Rabbitry will be showing Gunner for me. Im very grateful to her for helping me out!! My plan is to take him to the show saturday morning, look around, possibly get him registered, Amelia will show him, Gunner will spend the night at her house, and I will pick him up sometime Sunday. =] This will be my first open show, im sad I cant show, but grateful that my bunny gets to go! =] I was gonna send Melvin and Bubba also, but there not tatoo'd and they are just coming out of there ugly stage, lol. =] TTYL!!

Oh my

Wow, summer has flown by way to fast! Its hard to believe im starting school this coming Monday. :( Oh well, highschool won't be to bad, hopefully. Alot has gone on since my last post. I sold all of my baby bunnies except 2, a black vm buck from Daisy is possibly going to a new home tommorow. The other one is a solid gold tipped steel doe from Ash. I sent her and her litter mates to the pet store, and she was being aggressive, and moody. All of Ash's litter were very sweet, coming up to the cage, being held, but for some reason this little girl has always been moody. Since i dont feel comfortable selling her to a pet home, she will be culled from the herd.
I bred Gracy and Kitty, and sadly niether were very good sucess. Kitty never kindled. Gracy had 6 babies, and 5 of them died in the heat dispite all our efforts, and the last one, we brought inside, and from the beginning he was skinny, he would scream for no reason, I would try to bottle feed him, and sadly he passed away, but at least he is no longer suffering.
Tommorow im taking Minnie Mouse, and the black VM buck to a gal named Amelia. She raises Netherland Dwarfs, so im gonna trade her for one of her black otter junior bucks. Her website is: www.freewebs.com/shastarabbitry. She is very sweet, and helpful, check out her site!
I was finally able to sell Secret Score and Roman to a 4-H breeding home, so I hope they do well for there new owner. I have been moving out quite a few bunnies, and im grateful for that. I have decided to still do Meat bunnies, and Netherland Dwarfs on a small scale for now. I will be keeping Ash and Oakey as a breeding pair of Mini Lops, and I will keep Shasta (retired) and Buddy (showmanship bunny), Melvin, Gunner, and Kitty. Hopefully this will reduce numbers, and if in the future its not working out, I may almost sell out, although I will always have the meat bunnies, as they sell REALLY well. =]

Hi. Hmm, bunnies are so intresting. I love my bunnies, dont get me wrong, they are just so much work sometimes. I think its the cleaning the cages that gets me....I guess it wouldn't be that bad if the poop didn't get caught, and build up in the cage. Oh well. Im excited to get really involved with the Dwarfs. Im making some big decisions about moving bunnies out. Im really considering who is worth staying, and who isn't.
Melvin is doing GREAT. His wry neck went away with antibiotics. Im so glad we caught it in time. He is such a great bunny, and he definatly has a permanent home here, he is very special to the whole family. =]
One of Daisy's babies got out. Her feeder was kinda falling out, and so this same chesnut VM buck kept getting out. And this morning I went out to feed, and he was no where to be found. I kept going back in to make sure I hadn't missed him. I was so sad that something had happened to him. But then tonight I went in, and Buddy was out, and he came hopping up to me, and then there was the baby bunny sitting there. I was so happy! =D He is a little tramatized, so I hope he is okay. I then decided to go ahead and type him, since I need to replace his mom, and he has perfect type! He has flawless type, and he will be perfect for the BEW's. I will be keeping him, and I will check the other babies, and see if anyone else is worthy enough to hold back. =] Well have a good night! TTYL. =]

Great Weekend

Hi. This past weekend was Spring Rabbit Fair. It was so much fun!! Friday at about 5pm we went in to vet check my rabbits. I decided to take 6 (Blue, Buddy, Secret Score, Roman, Gunner, and Love Game). When I brought Gunner (BEW junior ND) up to the vet check lady. She started saying how beautiful he was, she loved his type, his ears, his head, everything about him. So that made me hopeful that he would do well. =] Saturday was the first day of showing. I showed Love Game, and got BOB over all the Crossbred bunnies. And at 3pm we did Showmanship. I got a callback, and I did really well. =] I then showed Buddy, and got 2nd Blue. On Sunday I showed Secret Score and Roman, and they went over weight, and got DQ'd. The judge loved them. Then I took Top Gunner up to the tables. There were quite a few ND up there, and some nice ones at that! Anyways..............................Gunner won BOB over ALL The Netherland Dwarfs in the show!!! =DDD The judge LOVED him, and I was so pleased! Im looking forward to showing him some more! The judge picked him up, and said to watch out for his weight, so im gonna put him on a diet. YAY!! Im so happy! We also had awards on Sunday, and tear down. =]

Althought we did have some sad news when we got home. Elwine (my neighbor) raises Kiko Goats, and I bottle feed the babies that the mothers don't want. So Elwine calls me, and says he is bringing me a baby goat. She was so cute! Although she didn't make it through the night..=((((( R.I.P little Snowy.

Also Melvin my baby BEW is showing signs of Wry neck, so Im taking him into the vet at 2:30pm today, to get this nipped in the butt. This is my second case with it, and I dont want it to become a promblem. So please pray that the antibiotics work on Melvin, and he gets better soon. TTYL! =]

Well the bunnies are doing great! The baby BEW has been named. We named him Melvin, because he looks like a Melvin, lol. He LOVES grass and Clover. He is looking really nice conformation wise. Im thinking I will be keeping him, because another buck wouldnt hurt, lol. =] Lacy had her babies. Im not sure how many yet, but there are ALOT of them!! Sweetpea hasn't had any yet, although she made a nest, and she still feels prego. Daisy pulled hair, and made a nest, but no babies. Although she feels really skinny, so Im hoping she didn't eat them. There is also supposed to be a thunderstorm tommorow, so Im hoping it doesn't upset them.

I made up Ash's babies, and Melvin's pedigrees. They look good, and I have alot of people intersted in Ash's babies, and I haven't even advertised them yet, lol. =] Have a nice night!! =D TTYL.

Hey. =] All the babies are doing great. Im not sure if I mentioned it in the last post or not, but Ash now has 4 babies instead of 5. Im not sure where the 5th one went, but he isnt in there.
The baby BEW is doing great. Starting to hop in and out of the box now. He is looking like he is gonna have nice type! He is very stocky, which is what I could use a bit more of in my rabbitry.
I have decided that im gonna not get the breeding pair of otters, until I sell all the bunnies I have for sale. Then I can reward my self with a new breeding pair! =D My mom likes this decision better to. =]

Hi. =] I am going to register with the ANDRC (American Netherland Dwarf Rabbit Club). I am excited! I plan to just raise Netherland Dwarfs, in BEW and Otter. And I will keep Ash and Oakey for a litter of Mini Lops occasionally. =] Other then that, it will all be ND's, and Meat breeds. I will still have Shasta and Buddy, and I'm thinking of selling Sweetpea, but I'm not sure yet. I'm also going to purchase an apron from the ANDRC. =DDDD
Ash has only 4 live babies now. I don't know what happened to the 5th one, but there is now 2 solids, and 2 brokens. 2 does are reserved, and I have another lady interested in 1. So they are going very quick, lol. Have a nice day! =]

Baby Mini Lops

Well Ash had 5 babies this morning. There are 3 brokens, and 2 solids. They are all fat, and she pulled alot of hair. Im hoping to keep a nice show quality doe, to replace Roman and Secret Score. I have a lady wanting 2 for her daughters.

Well, I am happy to post that RBTD Kitty, had 1 BEW baby last Sunday night. =D Since there is only one, and it was kind of cold at the time, I brought them both inside. Kitty seems to be taking good care of him, and hopefully this will be a nice addition to the BEW program.

But sadly, Minnie Mouse went blind in one eye. She for sure cant see out of it, and its fogged over. So Im putting Terimyacin in her eye 3X's a day. Hopefully this will get rid of it. If not, I will have to scratch her from my fair entry. =(

I have a person who is going to buy my rabbit poop everytime I have some. He has a garden shop, and sells rabbit manure. So that will be good. =]

Hi. Yesterday I was kind of looking at my meat litters, cause I never handle them, cause they go for meat, I was just seeing how crazy they were. LOL. Well, they were not crazy. I picked up a doe, and set her up on the table. She looks pretty nice! I think im gonna keep her, and make a show doe out of her. I seperated her from her siblings, and im in the process of getting buck stains off of her. Lacy her mom was a top show doe, so she should be nice. I also had my cousin go around and hold all the bunnies last night, they were all good, and she had some fun. =] BYE!

Retired Buns, and Summer

Hi. I have decided today to post about my retired buns, and what I do when summer comes around. To start, I do keep some bunnies, to retire. I only have 4. Only one of them is really retired, the other 3 have a guarnteed spot here. First off is Shasta, she is my very first rabbit ever. She is a absoult love. She hates plastic bowls. She is retired.
Second is Buddy. Buddy is my last baby from Thumper, and Thumper was my best bunny friend. Buddy is just like his dad. Just a sweetie. Of course he will never replace Thumper.
Third is Harley. Harley is just a special bun. I hate it when he chews on the wire, but it ammuses me to see him look at me like he knows he isnt supposed to be doing it. He knows his name, and is about the most annoying bun ever. But I love him very much, and he is always my first to greet me, and tell me he is about to start chewing. Such a ham..
Fourth is Gracy. Gracy is just Gracy. She is gonna have 1 more litter, then she is done. She loves about anything you give her food wise. She is a blackberry leave addict, and a cuddler. =]

As far as hot summer weather goes..it is very hard to keep buns happy in the heat. I litterally soak my bunnies with a hose to keep them cool. Frozen bottles, and boards are a pain. Soaking them is much better. I do it several times a day. I mainly get there ears, and body. I dont do there face, or nose. Theres my secret! =]

Hi. =] Im very excited for April 18th. You know why?? Because my BEW Netherland Dwarf is due. She is looking prego (which im happy about). Hopefully there will be some nice looking babies in there!
I put Roman and Secret Score (Mini Lops) for sale. I have decided to just keep a breeding pair (Oakey, and Ash) to breed for ocasional pet litters. Both Roman and Secret are pedigreed, and registered with ARBA. Secret has 1 leg, and Roman has won BOS at my county fair. Im asking $100 for the pair. I will seperate if you would like. They produce nice babies together though.
I sold Cloud (Dutch) a couple days ago. She went to a girl in my 4-H club for a showmanship rabbit. She is a sweetie, so she should do well with her.
I have decided since im gonna be focusing on my Netherland's, I will only be keeping 3 Dutch. Shasta, Sweetpea, and Buddy. I will work on moving my bunnies today, so I can have them more organized.
It may seem mean to some viewers, but since I couldnt sell Brownie, he was butchered with my meat litter of 4 from Gracy. He was kind of a crazy buck. Cookie will also be going that way, when my 9 meat babies from Lacy are ready to be procesed. Cookie is a real mean rabbit. You cant even touch her without her trying to attack you, so I dont feel right trying to sell her for a pet home.

Hi. I'm sorry I havent posted in a while. All the bunnies are doing good. Kitty never had babies, but I was able to re breed her, and she will be due sometime in April. They should all be BEW. Maybe some VM's??
Sadly a about a week ago we had to put down a baby bunny. It was one of the purebred Dutch babies. It got wry-neck, and there was nothing we could do for him. =(
Roman and Secret Score are for sale as a pair. I need to cut back, and I feel like I dont use these guys enough.

Rescue Bunny

I would like to welcome...Sebastion into the rabbitry. He is a Holand Lop cross, and is a rescue rabbit. He is blind, and is very sweet. Im hoping he will be able to find his food and water, and get along ok. He seems like a very sweet bunny, although he just arrived tonight. Im hoping he can find a great home. Managing Your Herd

I thought I would post my opions on how to mantain a healthy, and productive herd. This is the way I choose to do things in my rabbitry, and some ways I wish to change it, and how to change it.

Lets start with when you are trying to pick out your breed. I would suggest going to a local rabbit show, or a 4-H rabbit fair, and looking at all the different breeds. Talk to the owners about there rabbits, and dont be afraid to ask them questions. I think you should look into a rabbit that catches your eye. If you walk into the show, and see a Rhinelander sitting in his cage, and you go "Wow, thats a nice looking bunny!" Then go talk to the owners, and see what it takes to raise that certain breed.
#2: Make sure the breed is for you! If you dont like the idea of processing for meat, then I would suggest you dont get a meat breed. If you want something small, with alot of personalty. I would go with the Netherland Dwarf, or Dutch. Mini Lops, do not mean they are Mini rabbits. They actually get up to 6 1/2 lbs! So, make sure you do your reasearch.

Choosing a good feed is another important part to raising rabbits. I feed my rabbits Payback rabbit feed. It has 18% protein, and if im looking to add a little pazazz to it, I will add oats, hay, and grass. I would personally not buy a feed to high over 18%, as it can be to much for the rabbit. I would not reccomend buying feed under 18% as it doesnt provide the benifits for the rabbits. Make sure you also find a feed that isnt going to "break the bank." You can find a high quality feed, with a not so high quality price.

Your Rabbitry: I like to have a somewhat big rabbitry. Not just to house several rabbits, and maybe a few different breeds, but to have room to store your feed, hay, grooming box, medications, and everything you need for your rabbits. Another important part to a rabbitry is GOOD ventalation! You want to keep your rabbits comfortable, and cool during the hot summer months, but not freeze them, or there babies during winter. I dont reccomend using a heat lamp to keep your bunnies warm. I would suggest a nice opening somewhere in your barn, where you can have lots of air flow for summer, but still keep in somewhat warmer in the winter. I like to be able to have at least 2 fans running in the summer for my rabbits.

I personally try to clean my rabbitry at least 1 time a week. I currently dont use any thing in my trays. I used to use shavings, but they are kinda a pain. Im considering trying a nice brand of cat litter, and seeing if it keeps the odor down, and makes it easier to clean the trays. Please Note: I do spray down my trays, when there are no shavings in them.

Some Things To Change In My Rabbitry: Since my rabbitry is somewhat smaller, I try to organize it, so I have as much room for lots of cages as possible. So far Im liking the way my rabbitry is set up now. I would like to change to cat litter for my trays, and try to get more air flow, for the summer. I think these are just some key things, when it comes to raising rabbits. More to come soon! =]

Spring Time???

Is spring time here yet? I wish. I hate the rain. Luckily it has been nice and sunny these past few days (YAY!). I have set up 4 cages outside in the grass, for the bunnies to play in. Everyday someone different gets to go out, and play. They really enjoy eating all the grass, and burning some energy. Its so much fun to watch the babies play. Today I was able to get some pictures of the buns for sale. Tommorow I might get some more. The bunnies are all in really nice condition right now, and all the babies are looking GREAT. My ND doe is due this next weekend. I hope she took, if not, im gonna make her lose some weight, and try her again. I dont know why Dwarfs are such pains to get pregant. My black ND doe is the same way *groans*.

I have made the smart decision to cut back on the pet rabbits, and get one pet breed that is my "main" breed. I will still have about 4 Dutch, and 1 breeding pair of Mini Lops (Ash, and Oakey). Im gonna start breeding Netherland Dwarfs full on now. I will have Dutch on the side, and my meat breeds full on as well. I could never give up my Dutch, and will always have them, as they are so much fun! I think im gonna like the ND. So far im gonna breed BEW, Blue, and im thinking about Otters. I think otters are very pretty. And later on, I will get into some brokens. Im really excited for the Netherland Dwarfs, and should have LOTS of cage space to work with them! =D TTYL.

Babies Growing Up

Hi. Well it has been nice and sunny the past couple days. I got all the trays dumped, and now I just need to bleach some cages (hopefully), and clean out the meat pens. I have decided I need to make a day, every week to clean out my rabbitry. It got WAY WAY overdue this last time, and its not fair to the bunnies. So im thinking every wensday. =)
Speaking of babies, some are starting to hop out of the nestbox. =D They are all so cute! Sadly Daisy's baby that looked like Thumper, passed away, due to unknown reasons. Im very excited for my Mini Lop litter. They are looking so cute! There ears are beginning to lop, and they have BIG heads, like there daddy. Im thinking im gonna sell Secret Score, and maybe keep a baby to replace her. More then likely I will keep a baby anyways. Im also excited for my Dutch litter. They arent quite as impressive as I had hoped, but they are pretty nice markings wise. One has a DQ. I wish she would of had more to choose from. It leaves me with a steel, and a gold (ack!). Steel is not my fav color, and gold is un showable. So we will see what happens.
Aside from rabbit news. My sow (pig) had her first litter of 12 babies. There are hamp pigs (black and white), york pigs (white), blue butts (grey and white), and duroc pigs (red and white). One got sqwished, so there are 11 left. 6 gilts (girls), and 5 boars (boys). My other sow is due any day now. TTYL!

Hi. So im not eggzagerating when I say I have "Bunnies coming out my ears!" Im very happy to say, all my does took, and had babies, except one (the litter I was really looking forward to). Cookie had a total for 9 babies (YIKES!), but 4 were still born, leaving her with 5. Sweetpea has 4 babies. Daisy has 3 babies (one looks JUST like Thumper, who I will be keeping). Cloud has 3 babies. Ash has 5 babies (3 solids, 2 brokens). Kitty never took, will be re breeding her tommorow. And Lacy has 10 babies (GEEZ!). Im glad the does had smaller litters, and that they are all doing well. Im really impressed with how good the new moms are. Ash is a AWESOME mom (I think I will end up making her a possible foster mom?) Cloud is very sweet, and takes good care of her babies. And as always Sweetpea, and Daisy take great care of there babies. Cookie, and Lacy seem to be grouchy. Cookie is SO SO SO protective. She attacks the hay/door, and she grunts, and tries to attack, when I pour her food in, or blow on her, for grunting. Oh well....Cookie will be gone soon enough. Hopefully I will have baby pictures to share very soon. =) TTYL.

Decent Weather

Hi. Well the weather lately has been pretty nice. It has been raining quite a bit, but other then that, sunny, and nice. I plan to clean out the rabbitry tommorow. I was gonna go over my herd, but well over half my rabbitry is due to have babies, or are just coming off litters. I decided its not fair to type them now. ;) I have to say im pretty excited about all these babies! Most of the litters are pet litters, but I bred a couple to hopefully replace some doe's. I bred Cloud to Buddy, because Buddy is an amazing Dutch. He is the best in the rabbitry. I really love his cheeks, and his color, and type. Cloud I also really like. Her cheeks need help, and she needs to be darker blue, she is really light. But, Cloud has the stops Buddy needs. Buddy has nice stops, but they are ALMOST split stops (his momma has split stops).
Another litter I bred was, Ash, to Oakey. Im hoping to move out Ash, and was thinking of keeping something from her (if they are nice). Im looking forward to this litter. Another litter is my first litter of BEW. Im hopeing she took. =)
As you know I have alot of breeds in my rabbitry. I have decided for the best intrest of my herd, I need to let a breed or two go. Im thinking about only having about 5 holes for my Mini Lops (I may end up just selling out, and keeping a NICE breeding trio). So far my Dutch are staying. I KNOW my Netherland Dwarfs are staying. I really love ND, and think they are really fun to work with, so I will keep about 8 holes for them. I have decided I need to work up my meat breeds. I think im good on bucks, but maybe another doe, or two? I know meat rabbits are a HUGE hit here, and I need to keep them going.
Last night I was in the rabbitry feeding buns. And Cookie always paces her cage (she wants her box early). Well, I wont give it to her, until its time. But she had some hair pulled in the corner, so I decided to give her the box, just in case. No babies as of tonight. Anyways enough ranting. TTYL. =)

Hi. Well we have new little babes in the barn! Daisy had 3 babies. One is almost all black, the other 2 are marked like Dutch. One is gonna be black, maybe steel, the other is gold. Its amazing how dominate gold is. There is no gold in the bloodline, until there great great grandma. Weird....lol. Just thought I would let you know! Hi. Well, as 2009 wines down to an end, I think of how blessed I am in all I do. I have done very well with my rabbits, and horses. I plan to work harder to do better with my pigs (show wise), but I feel I have done well. Here are some of my rabbit New Year Resolutions:

1) Cut Back On Rabbits, That I Dont Need
2) Improve on type in my rabbits
3) Attend more shows

Hi. Well, not much as been happening lately. But, for some reason, I felt the need to post one. But, this is gonna be Gracy's special post. Since I love Gracy VERY much, and she is my favorite. She is SO sweet, and LOVES kids, and anyone who will love her, and rub her sweet little head. But, mostly she is the one I thrive to see when I walk into the rabbitry. She loves her babies, and will take on anyones babies, hands down, and not think twice. She is the perfect mother. Although she is nearing retirement, I know she will allways take babies, when I need her to. Everytime I pet her babies, she comes up, and gives me kisses. I recently found some baby pictures of Gracy(pictured above). When she was born, she was gray, not white, gray. As time went on, she went white. I can rember taking some baby bunnies to the local feed store, to sell. And these people wanted more then I had. So I gave them my #, and said call me, and you can come pick some out. Well, there daughter wanted a really sweet one. I thought of Gracy. I told her I had a really sweet bunny, I would sell her. Well, they never called, and now, Im REALLY glad they didnt. =) Pictures are up top.

Hi. So, as you can probly guess from my title, we have TONS of babies on the way! Every single one of my does (except Melody) are bred! =O Seems like a nice way to kick off the year! Here are the does I bred:

So LOTS of babies coming. They are all gonna be in time for Easter. The pet store I sell to, says they will take LOTS of babies on Easter. =) Im SO excited. Although, I have decided to cut back my numbers pretty good. Im planning to just keep the Dutch I have, and maybe sell some Mini Lops? Im looking to get more into my Dutch and Netherland Dwarfs. Im thinking of this spring/summer (pending on how many bunnies I cut back on), bringing in a nice Dutch doe, marked nice, with good type. We will see what the future holds.

I have been cleaning cages lately. Tommorow im gonna get some horse feed, and a couple bales of straw. Im also gonna clean out the rabbitry, again. And hopefully do some brushing/nail trimming/vent cleaning. ;) So, tommorow is dedicaded to the bunnies.

Gracy has 4 babies. She had 5, but we lost one due to the cold. She has been keeping them very fat, and I make sure I cover them with LOTS of hair/straw. Melody never took. I think its because she is a little to fat. So, im gonna get her to lose some weight, and breed her in January for Roasters, for fair. Hopefully Gracy will be able to take on another litter, for Febuary fryers. If I dont find another meat doe, that is. If not, I will have to deal with my roasters. =) Im thinking I may have to buy more nest boxes, in order to house all these babies. =) Im also gonna start collecting the hair I get from the bunnies, to put in with the babies, to keep them extra warm. I will probly purchase my nest boxes from Nui Kai, they have nice big nest boxes, and they sell them for pretty cheap, because they have a hard time getting rid of them. =) I was also able to get a couple dwarf size nest boxes. =) MERRY CHRISTMAS!! =)

Hi. Well, im starting to feel a little better about Bear. But, I wont bore you, and rant on about her. =) Well, I got some bunnies bred yesterday. =) I bred Cookie to Charlie, and Ash to Oakey. I tried to breed my BEW doe, but she wasnt giving, and she wasnt today either. I will try her again tommorow, im gonna leave the lights on in the barn, as soon as it starts to get dark. If that doesnt work (hopefully it will). I will tease her a little bit. TTYL.

Hi. Sorry I havent posted lately. I have been a little torn by having to put Bear down. Its just not the same in my little rabbitry. All my bunnies love me, and get excited when they see me, but I cant help but sigh when I look in Bears empty cage. =( It will probly take a little bit for me to get over my little baby. Im almost afraid to keep anything from Snickerdoodle. I LOVE his babies, and I hope he isnt passing something bad onto his children. Its just kind of funny, because my friend took a black doe (bears sister), and she died to un known causes. We just assumed from the heat, but now I kinda wonder.

Things have been pretty good in the rabbitry. Although the froozen water bottles were getting to be a pain, so we took them all off, and gave everyone crocks. We bought a de-freezer for the horse trough, and wrapped one of my pigs waterer with insulation, and put heat tape on the nozzel. My sows water is automatic, so we just put heat tape on it, to keep it from freezing. =)

Last Sunday, I got Daisy bred!! =D She would not give to Blue, so I let Buddy breed her, somebody has to breed that stubborn little girl, lol. TTYL.

RIP Bear

Hi. Well, yesterday I went out to feed, and Bear was ok. But I was going around feeding them, and she flopped on her side, and couldnt get up, and was flailing trying to get up. I couldnt stand to see her like that anymore, all the pain it must cause her, so I had my dad put her down today. Her last memories were good ones, I had him let her out, to eat lots of grass, and she got to run around a bit (freely), and she didnt know what hit her. She is in a much better place now. Even though I miss her lots, its not fair for her to feel pain, because I dont want to say goodbye. In a way it makes me almost mad, because, I was gonna breed her for my fryers/roasters for fair. Cause she was the best looking bun in the barn. Gracy and Melody are already bred, and will probly be too late to have babies in time for fair (could be wrong). That leaves me left with Lacy. She is a really nice doe, dont get me wrong, but bred to Harley, they tend to have a little long of a shoulder. So, im gonna search around for a REALLY nice Ex Show doe, and breed her.

Hi. Well the weather has been pretty nice these past couple days! I let some bunnies out to play in the grass, and took some pictures (above) of some of the babies, and my new BEW Netherland Dwarfs. =) I still have to try to clean out the rabbitry tommorow. Im hoping it will be another nice day, and I can get some organizing done. ;)

Well, we unfortunatly have some bad news....Bear is very sick. Last night, I went into the barn to feed, and she had her head pulled up against the door, kinda funny, so I kinda moved her back, and I let go, and she kinda stumbled, and something is wrong with her feet. She has the back ones all tucked under her, and her one front foot, is all turned up, and the other one, is very...................odd is the only word I have for it. I took her inside, and something is for sure wrong with her. She is breathing kinda funny, she wont eat anything, so she is VERY skinny. I got her to eat some blackberry leaves, and I gave her a cotton sweatshirt to sit on. I put some food there for her, it seems that she is not able to reach her head up to reach her feeder. She is drinking water though, so thats good. She is also peeing all over herself. Im really hoping its not something genetic, but thats the only thing I can come to, because there is no reson for her behavior. She seems to be in alot of pain, which makes it hard. Im trying to save her, but if she doesnt improve, im gonna have to put her down. Its not fair to let her suffer. If I could get her better, she would have to just be a pet. It breaks my heart, because she is such a sweetie, and is the best typed meat rabbit in the barn. =( Please send your prayers her way. =)

Today, also was the first day, all the water bottles froze (UGHHHH!!!) I hate it when that happens. I was able to open the door, and keep the light on, and they thawed out, so I hope that works for a little bit. =) I also updated everything on the website, so check it out! www.freewebs.com/sunsetrabbitry. Hi. Well, none of my meat doe's ever had babies. :( I dont know what the deal is. *Sighs* Im gonna re-breed Gracy, and breed Melody. Lacy needs to lose some weight, and Gracy maybe could too, but Bear needs to gain weight, and Melody is perfect. Im also gonna atempt to breed Daisy to my new BEW buck. I want to see if she is a VM doe. Im also gonna clean the rabbitry, and organize *hopefully*. I also plan to work with my horses (all of them). Well, better get started. TTYL. New Bunnies!!

Hi. Well, we just got our new bunnies! They are all BEW Netherland Dwarfs. 2 does, and 1 buck. AND..............THEY ARE PEDIGREED!! I was only gonna get the one buck, and doe. But I picked out a...she must only be like 5 weeks old (the lady weans them to early) little doe. She is VERY VERY VERY small, and skinny, so the lady was afraid she might not live, so she through in the older BEW doe just in case. So far so good. They are all VERY sweet. :) I would highly recommend her. Im not sure if she weans them early, or if they are just really that small, lol. Well, I named the younger BEW doe Minnie Mouse (Minnie). I named the Older BEW doe Kitty (she came with that name). I'm choosing between a few different names for the buck. Either...... Siskyou, Summit Up, Jack Frost, or Top Gunner. I will choose soon. :) These are ALL SHOW QUALITY BEW. Im really excited! The older doe, has already had a litter of 6, with one BEW doe in the litter.

I plan to clean out the rabbitry tommorow. I will get pics tommorow. TTYL.

Hi. :) Well, Im very excited to have babies here, with more on the way! :D Sweetpea has 3 babies, 1 blue, and 2 gray. Secret still has her 5 little babies. Most of them have white spots on them, so they wont be showable, but Dutchlops will need some help in type, lol. All of SS are Chesnut. Of course babies are ADORABLE, but every now and then, one little baby captures your heart. Well, one has caputured mine. :) It's one of Sweetpeas, and he is a steel, he is mis marked, but has the SWEETEST personalty! He is the only one I hold, and give kisses, and he doesnt "popcorn" lol. I put him in my sweatshirt pocket, and carry him around with me when im feeding. :) His name is Stripey. Lol, silly name, but it fits him well. ;) I will keep him as my pet, and most likely sell Charlie. I love Charlie, and will try to find some way to keep him. I love all my buns, and have to try REALLY hard to not cry when they go to new homes, they are my babies, and are always loved. Shasta got some special love yesterday, and so did Gracy. These are probly 2 of my fav does in the barn, (shhhhh! Dont tell the others!) Shasta, and Gracy are for sure here to stay, they have more than enough earned there stay here. :) In fact looking at pictures yesterday I found some baby pictures of Gracy, she was SO SO SO cute as a baby! She was like a smoke gray color when she was a baby, and it slowly went away. I have to go. TTYL.

Hi. Well, Sweetpea had 5 babies sunday. One was a runt, and got sqwished tonight. :( So Sweetpea has 4 babies. There looks to be some steels, and maybe a couple blues.? Secret Score had her babies today. I didn't really "count" them, because Im not sure if she was done, she was a little upset. But It felt like she had about 5. So smaller litters, but thats good, because I haven't had any luck selling rabbits lately, plus we are getting 1 maybe 2 ND's in November. So, I need cage space, im moving out alot of GOOD either already breeding stock, or has great potenial to be good breeding stock. Well, thats all for today. :) TTYL.

Hi. Well, Sweetpea was nesting and pulling hair yesterday, and she should have them today, (or maybe there already here, I havent checked yet). Im SO excited! I havent had baby bunnies all summer! Oh, and Secret Score had some hair pulled yesterday, and she had made a little nest. She isnt due until tommorow though. I also cleaned out the rabbitry yesterday. I sprayed down the trays, and they will go back in this afternoon, I dont want to upset Sweetpea if she is having babies. Hi. Well, I cleaned out the rabbitry. Im gonna hopefully clean it out again today. ;) Nothing much has been going on here. I bred Gracy to Harley (I might have metioned it in the last post). I tried to hand breed Lacy and Bear, but they were being STUBBORN! So, I left Lacy in with Harley overnight, and Bear in with Charlie overnight. I want to get a litter out of Charlie. Im considering selling a few rabbits I dont want to sell. Charlie is one of them, he is my pet bunny, but I have come to find out he is kinda timid, and tense, which is ok. But I would like to be able to take my pet bunny places, and it does fine. I took Buddy with me once up to the lake, to ride in our boat. And he was fine, and had fun. :) I really like Jersey Woolies, and fuzzy breeds. I would like to try one as a pet. I almost got a JW buck at Fair, but the owner, let someone else take him, because my mom was still thinking about it. Oh, well. Im also considering letting my young Dutch doe Cloud go. She is a very nice doe! Besides Shasta, the best doe in the rabbitry, markings, and type wise. She is a little un-even in her cheeks, but its ok. Im thinking about keeping her a little longer, and maybe taking her to fair, to see how she does. Another doe is Ash one of my ML's. I LOVE this doe! She is very sweet, but has awesome type! She is almost a year old, and has never been bred (sad). So, Im thinking of letting her go.
This Nov. we are gonna go down to Reno, NV to see Clinton Anderson (a horse trainer) Clinic. We are gonna go to Auburn, CA sometime while we are there, and get my BEW ND doe. And possibly a buck. :D There owner is VERY VERY VERY nice! I highly reccomend her! She is honest, and won't sell you a rabbit she wouldn't want to keep her self. Her name is Tamara (I think i spelt it right). Her website is: preciousjewellsrabbitry.com (I think).

On another note, the rabbits coats are HORRIBLE, they are ALL molting REALLY REALLY bad! I bought some oats, Im gonna see if it will help bring a nice coat to them, it has in the past. Well, TTYL.

Hi. I just thought I would post some updates (nothing much). I haven't spent alot of time with the bunnies (I have been kind of sick). But lately I have been typing some of my Mini Lops. They are so pretty! But all in HORRIBLE molts. I must have gottonm like 3 big wads of hair off of Secret Score, before I had hair up my nose. Roman was being pretty good with posing. Ash is looking good! She is so pretty! And of course Oakey, is just a sweetie. I was holding him, and he was just like falling asleep. Such a cutie, lol. Well, Im gonna start going through the herd a little bit tommorow. Everybun could use some loves, and some brushing! Lol. I also plan to clean the rabbitry tommorow (Its a little over due). Uggggg...and I HATE spiders! I usually dont mind them, but they think its great to make webs, on the cages! Urggg, well tommorow, sadly the webs are going to go. Im also gonna try to get some pictures. :) TTYL.

Hi. Well, I have been so busy I have forgotten to post blogs! Lol, well im not sure if I posted it or not, but I bred Gracy, Lacy, and Bear in August (I think I did post it). Well, they are all at LEAST 3 days over due, and NO babies......hmmm. I cant palpate my meat does very well, so im gonna have my mom *try* to palpate them, if she doesnt feel anything, I will rebreed them tonight, when its cooler. Speaking of breeding, I bred Sweetpea to Blue (weird cross, tell you later), and Secret Score to Buddy, for our FIRST batch of Dutch Lops! :D I tryed, and tryed to breed my ND doe to Blue, but she was not giving very well, so I just decided to breed Sweetpea, who was very much in heat, and made it easier for Blues first time breeding a doe. Im still gonna put a box in with the ND doe, just in case. ;) Well, thats all for now. TTYL. Oh, I updated the site.

Meat....Or Fancy?

Hi. I thought I would post a blog about personal opions about Meat Rabbits, and what we call "Fancy" Rabbits. I love all my Fancy breeds for there type, and temperment, but when it comes down to it, in this economy, they dont sell as well. Meat rabbits are awesome.

Meat Rabbits are awesome. Great type, and temperment. Even if they dont sell for meat (which about 99% of the time they do), we still can eat them our selfs. It may sound....mean...horrible...or disquisting to butcher rabbits, but its not that bad. Its quick and painless to a rabbit, and they dont know its coming. So, me and dad are trying to work towards GOOD type on my meat rabbits right now. Since at fair if your Fryer or Roaster pen wins, and gets to go to auction, you usually get at least $1000 for 3 rabbits. Thats over $300 a rabbit! I will take that!!! Lol. Just thought I would post my opion.

Please dont feel ofended, if you dont like that we butcher rabbits...thanks.

Almost Autumn!

Hi. I cant believe fall is just around the corner! This heat doesn't make it any eaiser to believe. Where did July go? Well, we haven't lost any more rabbits. It has been in the mid 80's lately, so thats good. About a week ago I bred, Lacy, Gracy, and Bear. Lacy and Gracy were bred to Harley, and Bear, was bred to Snickerdoodles. So around late September we will have more babies! :D I decided to talk a little bit about rabbits that we want to keep forever, to live out there days at the rabbitry. Well, I have made my decisions, on who is so far worthy enough to stay here. ;)

*Oakey. Oakey is a real sweetie. He loves head rubs, and to be held and loved. Even though he has only sired a couple litters, his personalty lets him stay. I made a mistake breeding him to Creampuff, and the babies aren't that great. I plan to breed him to Secret Score, as they complement each other well. ;)

*Buddy. Buddy is my showmanship rabbit, and is my replacement of Thumper. I miss Thumper, but Buddy is just as great, such a sweetie!

*Sweetpea. Sweetpea was from Shasta's first litter. I love this doe. She takes good care of her babies. If one of my friends wanted her as a pet, I MIGHT consider, but 99% no.

*Harley. Harley as produced countless litters for me. He has produced winning babies, which lets him stay. He is also a big love.

*Shasta. Shasta was my very first rabbit, and I will never sell her. She is a spolied pet now, and she knows it. She has produced countless GREAT litters for me, with last litter being her last. Plus she is my Ex-Showmanship rabbit (A really good one at that). I let her run around while I feed everyone at night, she's such a cutie/sweetie.

*Gracy. Gracy was from my 2nd litter of babies ever. She was smoke gray when she was born, a real cutie. She has produced countless litters, and Lacy is one of her double champion daughters (whom im really proud of). Gracy is a sweetie.

*Snickerdoodles. I love Snickerdoodles. He produced Bear, which is a champion doe. I love Bear, and am happy with Snickerdoodles. He is a sweetie.

There are a few rabbits on the ? side of things. But these ones for sure get to stay. ;) Well, have a great day. TTYL.

Hi. Well, your probly wondering if I fell off the face of the earth.....NOPE. Well, this heat has been HORRIBLE!!! We lost 4 rabbits in 2 days because of it. We lost Nakita my Champange doe, Harley JR (my keeper NZ cross buck), and 2 New Zealand babies. :( So..RIP guys, we will miss you! :( We opened up the walls a little, and put the industrial fan in there. Its alot cooler now. These past few days have been alot cooler, like in the 80's so thats good. :) It is time for the Mini Lops, and New Zelands to be weaned..ALLREADY!! :O Lol. We painted a cool background for the bunnies pictures. Its really nice. The Netherland Dwarf cross leave tommorow, to the pet store, I know mean, but this guy takes really good care of them, and makes sure they find good homes. We might be getting another rabbit. A BEW Netherland Dwarf doe. If we can get transport then we will get her. ;) We got a new rabbit named Lilly. She is a Californian doe. She is a WITCH! When I got her she was very sweet, but she has MAJOR cage aggresive issues. So, we will see how long she sticks around. Well, thats all sorry. TTYL.

Summer Time

Hi. Well, all the baby bunnies are doing great! They are SO much fun to watch bouncing around the nestbox. They all have there eyes open, so they are adorable! Sorry no pics, our computer is overloaded with them, so until I sort thru the pics, no pics, sorry. :( I have been keeping a good eye on all the bunnies behavior. Making sure non of them are gonna get sick and die. So far so good. If anything kills them, it would be this heat!! Its SO SO SO hot here! In the 100's!! ACK! And its muggy!! We are gonna take off the top part of the right side wall on the bunny barn, and put a shade cloth there. Then we are gonna put my dads HUGE idustrial fan up there, and get that hot muggy air OUT. That little fan doesnt work as well as I wish it did. It just doesnt reach clear to the other side of the bunny barn. :( Nice fan, but doesnt work to well. Well, thats all for a couple days. TTYL.

Hi. This isnt a good picture, but this is Thumper. Thumper was my baby. I loved him to no end. Anyways, he passed away this friday, of unknown causes. I pray he flew up to heaven on the wings of angels. :) R.I.P my baby boy!!!! You will NEVER be forgotten!! :( ) Congrats to Thumper on his blue ribbon at fair. :)

Hi. I went camping over the weekend it was fun!!! My grandma watched the animals while we were gone. Well, I guess after we left, she went to the rabbitry, and Oreo was found dead in his cage. :( She said he looked fine, he had food and water, she said it looked like he went to sleep and didnt get back up. So, im puzzled. I miss him, but luckily we have some babies from him. When I came home Shasta's runt was dead (and they had just opened there eyes). :( But Shasta has 2 golds and 1 tort. BUT....we did have a couple litters over the weekend!!!! Creampuff had 7 babies, all Lilacs. :) And Melody had 5. :) They are so sweet!!! :D Im not sure if I told you or not but a while ago, I had to give Charlie back, there was a misunderstanding. Well, the owner of Charlie broke up with Sams dad, so we got Charlie back, and there wont be any more misunderstandings. ;) I also cleaned the rabbitry today. Hi. Well, Shasta had 5 babies on Sunday (i think) afternoon. 4 are still alive, the 5th one just disapeered. There are 2 golds, and 2 torts. 3 of them are HUGE, 1 of them is TINY, like the size of my pinky. The little runt, is just as strong though. ;) Bear never had babies, she misscarried. Creampuff and Melody get there boxes tuesday. Well, I have to go do some chores. TTYL.

I got a blue in showmanship, and got called back, into the 2nd round. I think I lost due to my lack of the hard knowlege. On sunday, I walked over to my bunnies, and Bear was pulling HAIR! I had put her in with Charlie, but nothing happened. (Or so i thought). So, I took her home, and canceled her BIS class. Well, I think she misscarried *urgg*. Charlie had to go back home, Angela wanted him back. Oh, and Sam got Grand Champion in showmanship. Marvin got a white. She did really well for her first year. ;) We also came home with a few bunnies, lol. Even though we said we wouldnt, we did. Sam agreed to let all the bunnies stay at her house, though. ;) Sam got 2 Himilayian/Mini Rex, 1 Netherland Dwarf, 1 Mini Rex buck, and 1 Mini Rex doe. I got 1 Mini Rex buck, named Silver. :) I was gonna get a Jersey Wooly, but he got sold. :( This lady's name was Margret. She gave us all these bunnies for free. :D I also went over to her house Monday to pick up a Netherland Dwarf doe with a one week old litter of crossbreed babies. The doe is all black, she is sweet. (The lady said she was mean). I also got her for free. Here's the story:

Me and my grandma went over to her house (FYI: This lady and daughter are moving to Virginia this week). We went into her rabbitry, and it was HORRIBLE! These were nice stacking cages, and here trays were a foot deep with manure. The bunnies looked like (TAKE ME HOME!), Plus the cages were COVERED with cobwebs, you could hardly see the bunnies, AND NONE of the bunnies had food or water. The lady hands me the doe, and she is SKIN AND BONES! SKINNY! The lady was like: "She is gonna be a little skinny, cause of her babies". Im sorry but a doe cant be as skinny as she was, just from a litter! So, we took her home, and her nestbox had 7 babies in it. 5 white, 2 brown. Very cute. Her nestbox SMEllED BAD! So, we put all the babies in another nestbox. She got LOTS of food, hay, and water. She is happy now. Her babies have there eyes open. :D I gave Shasta her nestbox today. She is due Saturday. This will be her last litter, before retirement. :) TTYL.

FAIR!!!

Hi. Fair is coming up! This coming weekend! Friday is vet check + cage assignments, saturday is fair, and sunday is fair!! It will be a TON of fun!! :D All the bunnies are doing good. We cleaned the cages yesterday, and sprayed down the trays. We also cleaned off hutch stains on the bunnies (they got a little bath, hehe). Some of the rabbits had sore hocks, so I treated them with antibotics. Im hoping vet check will let them in. I bred Creampuff to Oakey, and Melody to Harley. So, we will be having litters soon! :) Theres a quick update. Wish me luck for fair! :D TTYL.

Hi. Well this week has been interesting. Ok, so first off we got another baby goat named Fred (dad named him). He looks like Izzy. Then, Sam's rabbit Thumper had 7 babies 3 weeks ago, Thumper died, and so did one baby, so Im bottle feeding them. Coco also had babies, but they are 7 weeks old. Coco was killed by something, so I took her 3 too. Im keeping one of Cocos babies, a blue doe with PERFECT markings!! And maybe 1-2 of Thumpers. Sam lost a few bunnies these past couple weeks. Blueberry, Emolly, Thumper, Coco, Bambi, and Cinnamon. I dont know why, but they died. :( And, then I fell in love with Sam's step sisters bunny, Charlie. So, I took him home. ;) I let him run around the rabbitry today. ;) I also bred Shasta to Oreo (i think i told you in the last post). There's a quick update. :) TTYL.

Long Time, No Post..

Hi. Sorry for the lack of updates, we have been busy. Izzy is still alive and she is getting big! She is 10 days old. :) We also got another abonded goat, this time a boy and his name is Floyd (dad named him). He is 5 days old today. ;) They are both doing great! The day before yesterday, we had to put down one of the baby pigs. I wont go into details, but it happened to be my favorite one. :( I also cleaned out the rabbitry a few days ago. I bred Shasta to Oreo last night. I also chose my fryers and roasters. My roasters got tatoo'ed and my fryers will tommorow. Im pretty happy with my roasters. A little long in shoulder, but I was able to choose 3 NICE looking ones, that are coming into there shoulders. ;) My fryers are looking awesome. Nothing to complain there. If anything shorter shoulders, but they are developing into there shoulders, as well.

Well, a friend of mine last year came and got a Dutch buck from me. Well, now they have ND and want to breed to Blue, I accepted, and in exchange I will get first pick of the litter. :D Did I mention the doe they want to breed is a tort?? Double :D :D. LOL. Anyways theres a update. ;) TTYL.

Hi. Well, not much has been going on here. I heard everybody did really well at Mini Lop Nationals. Just to name a few...Lana, Nicole, Velvettouch Rabbitry, Sunnybrook Rabbitry didnt send any of there rabbits to ML Nationals, but rabbits from them, that they sold to other people, did really well. Congratulations everyone!! ;)

Well, my neighbor raises goats. I sometimes take care of them, while he is gone trucking. Well, I also signed up to bottle feed baby goats, if they are abadoned, or they have more then 2. Well, one was abadoned yesterday, and his here. Its a girl, and her name is Izzy, short for Isabell. She is doing awesome. So wish her luck!! ;) TTYL.

Hi. Tuesday night Lucky started having seizures (i think), and was crying. :( My mom brought him out to feed him, and all the sudden he went into the "dead limp", but we brought him back, and he started having little seizures. Like he would act all hungry, then he would go all bad, and stuff like that. Anyways we lost him Wendsday morning. He died peacefully, and not in pain, so that makes me feel a little better. I just find it weird that it happend when he was 8 days old, and not 2-3 days old. Hmm. But tommorow is a bunny ceromony for Lucky, on this blog. So check it out sometime tommorow. TTYL.

Hi. Well today Lucky is 8 days old! He is still alive, and doing great. My mom thought his eyes were trying to open, hehe. Well, im not sure I should keep Creampuff or give her another chance...what do you guys think?? She didn't produce anything chocolate (except that lilac is chocolate based), but that doesn't really count. Hmmm...

Im gonna clean the rabbitry today, and organize a little. Oh, and I also choose who is going to fair. Here they are:

Hi. Lucky is still doing GREAT!! He is already 5 days old! And...Creampuff had her last (hopefully) baby. She had it on the wire (DOA), and ate off one of his back legs. :( He was also a solid lilac. So, next I will probly breed.....Shasta? I dont know yet. I need to get another Dutch doe, cause Shasta is going into retirement after her, next litter. I will probly just use Cookie.

I went through my whole rabbitry a couple days ago, and typed everybody. I wrote down faults, I would like to improve, and there +'s that keep them here, hehe. Well, here is what I need to improve, and work towards.

Ok, so there are your pictures. :) Anyways, Creampuff had 1 DOA this morning, a broken lilac, and 1 VERY COLD solid lilac. So, I rushed the VERY COLD baby inside, and got him warm. It took a while to "revive" him, and get him warm. Creampuff doesn't seem to know how to take care of them. :( So, Lucky is inside under a heat lamp in my room. He will be taken outside at least 2 times a day, to nurse off of Creampuff. And he will be fed replacement milk a few times a day as well. :) I dont think Creampuff is done, so I will let you know if there are more babies. ;) Keep Lucky in your prayers. :) TTYL.

The Coast

Hi, the coast was great! We did some surf fishing (but didnt catch anything), tidepooling, and just enjoying the beach. Sunday the ocean was extremely calm, monday not so calm. Ok, so sunday night I turned off my cell phone. At around....9 monday morning I got a voicemail. It was from my grandma (who was taking care of the animals), and it said: "KAYLA, CALL ME YOUR PIG HAD BABIES!!!!" So, I called her back, and Daisy my pig had 12 babies. 2 were brought inside to try to save, cause they werent doing good. She saved one, the other one passed on. Two were still born. So, that leaves her with 9. All black and white, except one amost all black. She is a good mommy too. I have a favorite a little gilt (female) she is so cute, and doesn't scream when you hold her. One of them has a odd marking like Cruella Devila from 101 Dalmations. Lol.

Gracy's babies are doing good. All healthy. Lacy's babies were weaned. Creampuff recieves a nestbox today. :) TTYL.

Hi. Ok, so there are going to be no jokes on this blog..ok? Lol. Anyways, sunday Gracy had 10 babies! Gee!! One is a runt, but it's doing good. I can hardly tell its a runt now. Nakita has not yet had babies. Hmm, we will see what happens.
I took Buckley, and Cookie to Sam's house tuesday (yesterday). Well, today I got a text saying that Buckley had gotten out, and was killed by a coyote or one of there dogs. :( I miss him, I loved him so much. So...R.I.P Buckley, my little baby. :( Cookie is fine though. :) And, the little ND doe that I got, is actually a buck. MAN, oh well. Now im in search of a doe....AGAIN. Lol. I want one that looks like Buckley (a himilayian). I also cleaned the rabbitry.

Saturday me and Sam are going to Ashland Pets, to do a rabbit demo for the customers, to answer questions, and let people pet our bunnies. The bunnies im taking are: Secret Score, Ash, Buddy, Daisy, One of Lacy's babies, and Melody. TTYL.

Hi. Gracy and Nakita, recieved there nestboxes 2 days ago. They are due tommorow. Gracy made a BEAUTIFUL nest. Nakita made a...............ummmmmmm.........not really a nest. But, I cant really remeber her ever making a "nest". So hopefully she is pregant. I also got the following rabbits tatoo'ed: Ash, Buddy, Oreo, Cookie, Buckley, Bear, Melody, and Snickerdoodles. Sam got all but 2 of her's done too. They also got there nails trimmed. Ash was at Sam's, but I need to put weight on her (not that Sam doesnt feed them), but she was fine at first, then she went all skinny, and she had bumps on her. ????????????? But, the bumps are gone, and hopefully she will gain weight. TTYL.

Hi. All the bunnies are doing great. Ash, and Oakey went to Sam's for spring, and maybe summer. Ruby (my keeper from Sweetpea) got sold, to a great pet home. Only 2 more to go. Oreo may go, Creampuff may go. If Creampuff doesnt have anything chocolate in her litter, then I will sell her, and buy a chocolate doe. Lacy has 3 bucks, and 3 does. Hi. Gee, im getting a little lazy on posting, huh? Nothing much has been going on. Lacy's babies have there eyes open, there fur, and they are starting to come out of there box. Lack Of Postings....

Hi. Sorry for the lack of postings. I have been busy. Lacy's babies are doing great, despite all the cold weather. They are at there cute stage now, lol. I got my gilt, and my show barrow, for pig fair. We put them in the chicken coop (rabbit run). They have a heat lamp, so thats probly part of the reson the bunnies are staying warm. I bred Creampuff, to Oakey a few days ago. I feel they complement each other nicely. Oakey has the small, short body, Creampuff needs. And Creampuff has the dept, and head Oakey needs.

Ash is looking good. She is so nice. I think she will pair nicely with Oakey. Go to go. TTYL.

New Bunnies!

Hi. We have new bunnies!! Two, acctually. I traded 2 baby Dutch, for 1 New Zealand White doe. She is very nice, and has a good temperment. Last week...I think, I took the two Mini Rex crosses to Pet Country. Today I took the 3 Mini Lops there. They had this ADORABLE blue or smoke pearl (cant figure out which color yet), Netherland Dwarf doe!!! Her ears are PUINY!!!!! She is small, I think she will look good with Buckley. My ND search is over!

One of Lacy's babies fell out of the nestbox, and froze. So......that leaves her with 6 babies. Hopefully this litter is a little more sucsessful, then the last two. I also bred Gracy, and Nakita for fryers a couple weeks ago. My poor little Ash, she is SKINNY! I cant figure out why. I feed them top quality food, and they are fed twice a day. I think she is starting to put on a little weight now.

My horse trainer has this Mini Lop buck, that she wants to re-home. His nose has been chewed up a bit, and he has some balance issues. But, he is sweet. He is a VM Mini Lop buck, with blue eyes. He can probly be used for BEW, but I wouldnt try it, cause of his "issues". All she wants is for him to have a LOVING home. So, if you are intersted let me know. :) TTYL.

Hi. We have babies!! Lacy had her babies. I dont know how many she has, but she has alot! Lol. The 3 nicest ones will be used for roasters. I bred Gracy to Harley, and Nakita to Snickerdoodles for fryers! How exciting!! I also cleaned the rabbitry today, and weaned Sweetpeas babies.

I have decided to sell Ash, if anybody wants her. She is a awesome little doe. But, I dont really "need" her. Lol. She has to go to a show home, where she will be shown often. Hi. Sorry, for the lack of postings. All the bunnies are doing good. Sweetpeas babies, are looking good. I have my eye on the runt. She is so cute!! I have decided to keep one of Nakita's babies. She is so pretty. Amazing type! I will probly still keep Bear. Since Melody wont be here long. Sam is coming over tommorow. I might end up selling my keeper from Secret (Ash). It depends. Im cutting back on my pet rabbits, and moving more into my meat rabbits. I never re-bred Cookie. I didnt feel like it. My back has been bugging me. Just thought I would give you an update. TTYL.

Hi. Well nothing has been going on lately. I cleaned the rabbitry yesterday, with this new kind of pellets (like sawdust made into pellets), to try out. I future here is looking pretty good. We plan to have 4 cages, for meat babies. I have decided to only have 1 litter of pet bunnies, at a time. Reson being, so I have more time to spend with the babies. Not Again!

Hi. My friend Sam came over a couple weeks ago, and brought with her Dutchess (the Mini Rex i sold her), Her Thumper, and Buckley. I traded Buckley, with Sam then. She gave me Buckly, and I gave her a Mini Lop. Well, Thumper, and Dutchess are still here. And Dutchess was being semi grumpy with petting, so I got her out to palpate her, and sure enough her belly is hard, and huge. It was hard to feel babies, so I gave her a nestbox full of straw, just to be safe. Thumper doesnt seem to be pregant.

Melody wont be here for long. She will be butchered with the onther meat babies. The reson being, she doesnt look like a purebred NZ, and she wont take. She is also extremely evil! She might stay around for a little bit. Most likely, I will keep her, and see if she takes, one last time.

Anyways, I updated the site, with new pics, on the bucks, and does pages. All the bunnies were in great condition, and more then willing to pose, so It is nice to have some decent pics of them. :) For some reason, Im feeling kinda devastated about Cookies litter (again). I hope the same thing doesnt happen with Dutchess litter. I will probly cry if it does. Well, I better go....TTYL.

Im Alive

Hi. I cant rember what went on since I last posted. Friday my mare Saphire went to get trained. With my baby horse, I felt bad not having enough time to spend with my baby horse, so I sent my bum head to a trainer. I did some ground driving with my Mini Bethany. She did good, but she didnt like her over check, she wanted a under check. So im looking for a under check now. Last summer is when I hooked Bethany up to the cart. So, this spring I will offically start her driving training. Exciting! I didnt breed Cookie like I said I would, I didnt feel like it. All the bunnies are enjoying the alfalfa hay every night. Tommorow I will be busy.

I will get up, feed, take a walk, get ready for church, go to church, go to lunch, ground drive Bethany, work with Windancer, Breed Cookie, practice showmanship. AHHHHH to busy!! Lol! Not to busy, but busy. I got all the Mini Lop pedigrees filled out tonight. Ash is looking SO nice!! WOWZA!! I will stop bragging now, LOL! I will update the website tommorow ALSO! Lol! TTYL.

Hi. I cant come up with any good titles, lol. Im still pretty devastated about Cookie's litter..*sigh*. Im thinking, I might re-breed her tommorow, to Oreo. Black to Black...anybody want to make some predictions, on the colors of the babies?? Im thinking black (duh), and possibly tort, or blue. Im not sure about Cookie's parents, but Oreo's dad is a tort, and Oreo's mom is a blue. I was looking at Ash (my keeper from Secret Score) today, and it turns out, the "white" hairs, are gold. Lol. She is gonna pair up well with Oakey. Im hoping we can get her granded. It looks like the bunnies next show is Mini Lop Nationals (for the Mini Lops), and then fair, for everybody. We are still debating on going to ML Nationals, or not.

I have a bunch of new pics to show you, but I cant find the USB cord, to hook the camera up, to get the pics out. I hope I find it. I also cleaned out the rabbitry. I purchased a bale of PURE Alfalfa for the bunnies today. Very nice hay. I got a free bag of bedding, to try out, on the bunnies, and horse barns. It's only $3.99 a bag! Thats better then shavings!! Sad, Sad News.

Hi. Sadly, the night before last, Cookies babies died. The whole litter. I was pretty upset, so I didnt post anything. I guess, she ate all her food, and she was still hungry, so she started to eat the hay in the nestbox, the babies didnt have enough hay, so they froze. Im still pretty sad. Hi. All the bunnies are doing good. We lost one of Sweetpeas babies, she fell out of the cage twice, so that might have had something to do with it. So, Sweetpea has 7 babies. Cookie still has 7. Buckley is doing great. He is spolied. Last night, he got to sleep in bed with me. Tommorow im taking Shasta's 3 bucks to Pet Country. I need the cage space bad. 2 of Sams bunnies are here, until she gets back from her moms house. I might sell the Mini Lop doe I was gonna keep, her name is Ash. Please let me know if you are intersted in her, ground transport is defanitly a option. ;) She has great type, for being so young! Im gonna weigh Creampuff tommorow, I hope she doesnt go over weight. If she does, she will most likely be bred to Oakey for some nice babies! Creampuff is very wide, which is what Oakey is lacking, so they should be a nice match. Secret Score is ready to hit the tables! Maybe there will be a show coming up soon. Well, I better go. TTYL.

New Bunny!

Hi. Yup, we have a new bunny! Not a breed that I raise though. His name is Buckley, and he is a Netherland Dwarf. His varierty is Himalayian. Once some of my bunnies get sold, I might be purchasing a doe, to breed. I traded with Sam for Buckley. I gave her one of the baby Mini Lop bucks. The broken gold tipped steel one. She is gonna use him in 4-H. Not much has been going on. Ok, the Mini Lop doe that I was gonna keep, is a gold tipped steel. She devoloped white hairs on her shoulder. Is that a discalafaction? I think so, but want to make sure, before I sell her. TTYL.

Hi. Cookie had babies! She had 8, but one was DOA, so she has 7 now. 2 of them are gold, and the rest are black. So cute! She actually had them monday. Sweetpeas babies are doing good. I guess one of Sams bunnies had babies too, but they were born dead on the wire. I cleaned the rabbitry yesterday. Nothing much is going on. So....TTYL.

An Unexpected Surprise

Hi. We have a VERY unexpected surprise coming to our rabbitry soon. Cookie me black Dutch is PREGANT!! She is nesting as we speak! I got Cookie from Sam, and her only buck at the time is Marvin, a gold Dutch. So, that is the daddy. She has another buck, but she just got him about 2 weeks ago. I was feeding Sweetpeas babies, right after I had gave all the bunnies hay. I noticed Cookie was running around, colecting hay in her mouth. I thought OH NO, she's pregant! I felt her, and sure enough she IS pregant. So I gave her a nestbox. :) TTYL.

Hi. Sweetpea is not gaining weight (yet). Her babies are pretty skinny too. So, I have been giving both Sweetpea, and her babies extra milk. I have been using the evaporated kind. I have added oatmeal to Sweetpeas gain weight diet. Anyways, I was gonna tell everybody how to bottle feed a baby bunny.

Supplies: Chair (to sit on), marker, evaporated milk, and syringe.

Ok, so first you are gonna set your chair up, in front of the babies cage. Then you are gonna grab a baby bunny. First you are gonna mark his ear, with the marker. Then, you will lay him on his back, and hold him with one hand. You will get milk in your syringe, then put it up to the babies mouth, and drop a little bit in his mouth (make sure the milk is luke warm). Then, you will let him drink all that he wants. Make sure he eats at least 2CC twice a day. Then you are gonna gently rub his belly, and adomen. Then put him back. Do this will all the babies, and the mom. Thats how you bottle feed a baby bunny. Hi. Sweetpea is getting skinny (again). She always gets really skinny when on a litter. So im shoveing food down her. Her not having enough milk was the promblem last time. Now its her being skinny. Im feeding her lots of pellets, grass, hay, and oats, muliple times a day. Hopefully she will start to gain some.
Well, I made my decsions on the baby bunnies. Im keeping Sunsets's Ash, a solid gold tipped steel Mini Lop doe. She looks NICE! And, Bear a Californian/NZ/Satin doe. She is kinda a gray gold tipped steel, but part of her is gold tipped steel. But, im keeping her for breeding only, and she will be a spoiled pet. TTYL.

Random Bunny News..

Hi. I was bored, so I decided to post a blog. All the bunnies are doing good. Sweetpeas blue colored baby is a buck. Darn! I was hoping for a doe, oh well. We also have a escape artist! Secret Scores her name, and escaping is her game. She has figured out how to push up the latch in her cage, and escape. So, I had to put a clip on it. Cookie is getting better with handling. She will let me pet her now. I was gonna let her play in the pen, but the weather got bad. I will probly bring her inside tommorow to play, if the weather is bad.

The cost of rabbit feed is becoming a issue lately. It is $18 for a 50lb bag! Gee! So, Im in search of a different brand of rabbit feed. Needs to be good % of protein, and green, not brown. I have been feeding 1 cup of food once a day to them. The babies get 1 cup each. They are getting a handful of hay at night also. Well, its time to go feed the animals. TTYL!!

Im Back!

Hi. Wow, what a great weekend at the coast! It was beautiful! Sunny, I think it got into the 70's. Wowza! Lol. We caught 7 crab (I think). We started with 4, then the state tropper came down to the dock. We were measuring from point to point, but I guess you are supposed to measure inside the points. So, he threw them back because they were literally a hair off. Oh well! Still a awesome weekend! :)

I sold 3 of the Mini Lops, and 2 of the Dutch. Of the babies, not the adults. All does. I sold her 2 of the gold Dutch does. The broken chincilla, chesnut, and broken gold tipped steel Mini Lop does. I decided to hold back just the gold tipped steel Mini Lop doe. I dont need to keep to many. But, she is a very promising little doe! ;)

The bunnies are really enjoying the outside pen. They love digging! I also cleaned the rabbitry today. Saturday I breed for roasters, for spring fair. Im gonna breed Lacy to Harley. Then in Febuary I breed for fryers, I will breed Gracy to Harley, Melody to Harley, and possibly Nakita to Snickerdoodles. Sunday I have a horse show. It is actually a clinic for in hand miniature and pony trail classes. But I think we get to show them also. Bethany is pretty good in trail, so we will see how it goes! :) Well, I better get off of here. TTYL.

Hi. I just thought I would tell you tommorow Im leaving to the coast, wont be back until monday. So, I wont be posting until monday, or tuesday. Buddy, The 2 Mini Rex bucks, and Oreo got to play in the pen today. They had alot of fun. Although they were hard to catch (except Oreo, he is a momas boy, he comes right to me). They hopefully will get to play tommorow too. All the bunnies are doing good. My grandma is making me business cards! She came by, and got pics of the bunnies. Bunny Pen....BUILT!!!

Hi. We have a chicken coop, since we got rid of the chickens, I have been using the inside for storage. So, we decided to make the outside part a rabbit run! It is so nice! Tommorow the bunnies will get a chance to play in it.
I made more cuts on the Mini Lop babies. So far we have available: 1 chesnut doe, 1 chesnut buck, 1 broken gold tipped steel buck, and 1 gold tipped steel buck. The gold tipped steel is really nice! I was gonna hold him back longer, but I decided I dont need him.Just a quick update.TTYL.

Hi. I got the pics of the bunnies! Although I have to put them up tommorow, camera needs to charge first! ;) All the Mini Lops, and looking soo promising! It was hard to decide! Im holding back 6 until 8 weeks: 1 broken chincilla doe, 1 gold tipped steel doe, 1 gold tipped steel buck, 1 broken gold tipped steel buck, and 2 chesnut bucks. Im for sure selling 2 bunnies. Here is some info:

Sunsets Brownie is a chesnut Mini Lop doe. She has nice type, good head, ear, and crown. Fur is ok. She slopes into her HQ, im sure it will round, as she gets older though. Right now, I cant afford to hold her back. Promising doe! $30. She will be pedigreed. Can be registered. Pet~Show~Breeding.

BUSY!!!!!

Hi. Gee, I have been BUSY, BUSY, BUSY! Where should I start...simple stuff first. Sweetpea has 8 babies still. Im making final cuts on the baby Mini Lops tommorow (I know, early) but mom wants them out of here. I wont sell them till 8 weeks, so I will make cuts then too. When I look at them tommorow, I will hold back the "for sure" ones, keep the "not sure" ones until 8 weeks, and advertise the "not staying" ones. If you want a Mini Lop, check out my website tommorow! We can find transport, if you dont live close. All of Shastas babies are for sale. I will get pics of them tommorow, and put them on the website. All Nakitas are for sale, and 6 of Gracy's are for sale. Im keeping one black steel looking doe.

We organized!!! I moved out cages to clean, move rabbits around. Cleaned the rabbitry its self. And Im gonna go look at more cages soon! I went to my friends house (Sam) yesterday, and took some bunnies to play with hers. I took: Oakey, Buddy, Oreo, and the 4 Mini Rex's. She took the two Mini Rex does. We traded actually. I gave her the two Mini Rex, for a really nice black Dutch doe. Her name is Cookie. She has amazing markings!!! Im not gonna judge her type yet, one of Sams dogs at her moms house got hold of Cookie, and took off alot of hair. So, Sams bunnies are at her dads house now. I will get pics of her (but they wont be good). I better go for now. TTYL.

Moving around

Hi. No, were not moving lol. I mean moving cages in the rabbitry. We have it all very well organized! It is looking nice! We weaned all the babied (except Gracy, and Nakita). We leave our meat breeds in with there moms longer, to help them grow faster. Im soo impressed with the babies from Secret and Roman! They are gonna be show stoppers for sure!! One of Shastas bucks, has discovered his calling. And decided to test it on his sister. (Mating). Lol! Poor little guy! (Dont worry I checked, he cant breed her, doesnt have his stuff yet). Sweetpeas babies are so cute! One is a blue!! Im so happy I got a blue! If it has good markings, I will keep it. (Lord willing). Well, just a quick update. TTYL.

Hi. Sweetpea had her babies Monday night. FINALLY! Lol. I didnt look at them till this morning. There are 8! They are soo cute! Looks like 2 golds, 5 blacks, and maybe 1 blue. A couple had missed markings. Oh well. A few had nice markings, from what I could tell. :) I was checking my calender today, and noticed today Shastas babies get weaned! Ahh, seems like just yesterday they were born! Im gonna wean hers, and Gracys tommorow. And Secrets thursday, and Nakitas friday. Gee, more work! Lol. Im ALSO gonna clean the rabbitry tommorow. I was gonna do it sooner, but I got to busy, and I didnt want to do it when Sweetpeas babies are only 1 day old. I have to go. TTYL.

1. How did you deceide the name for your rabbitry?
Well, we were making a rabbit sign for our driveway, to avertise our rabbitry. I was thinking of a name for my rabbitry, I started thinking about Sunsets. When we do have sunsets, they are the most beautiful ones I have seen! So, thats where the name comes from.

2. Youth or Open?
Youth right now. Mainly 4-H. I plan to start showing open next year, maybe sooner.

3. How long have you owned rabbits?
I had a rabbit when I was like 9, but then I gave him away. I got another bunny when I was 10. She is a Dutch named Shasta. I still have her too! So I have been doing this for 3 years.

4. What's the biggest win you've had so far(not that winning is everything!)?
Getting Double Grand Champion with one of my meat breed does. And getting BIS and BOB with my Mini Lop last year. And my first year, I got champion with my meat breed doe.

5. What's the most embarrassing or 'Ah Ha' moment with rasing rabbits?
Hmm, I cant really think of one. I think it was my first year in 4-H showmanship. My doe had been bred, so she was a little grumpy around the bucks. (Mind you, this was in the champion round). I had 2 bucks next to me. One was another Dutch like my Dutch, and the other was a HUGE I think it was a French Lop! He was bugging Shasta, and Shasta was being a bum. So I had to ask the girl to move down. (Of course I thought the judge wasnt looking) But he was! Lol.

6. How did you decide what breed to raise?
Well, we have 4 breeds right now. Dutch was our first breed. My friend had gotten a adorable black Dutch doe. So, I begged my parents to let me have a bunny, and let me do 4-H with it. They agreed, and I found the perfect Dutch. My second rabbit was a Californian I had purchased from my 4-H leader. I loved the breed, and dad thought they were great for meat production. I purchased a Mini Lop from Lana, of Hip Hoppin Rabbitry, and I instantly fell in love with the breed. Then, we have always loved the NZ for meat production. Then we have our rescued Champange D' Argent (Plan to start crossing her with my Satin). Then, we have my Satin buck.

7. What is your current 'set up' and how many cages?
We have about 26 holes right now. I plan to get about 30 in the future.

8. What's your short term goal (now to June 2009)?
Get some NICE Mini Lop babies on the ground.

9. Long term goal?
I want to go to shows, and have fun. And of course have tons of babies! And grand a homebred rabbit.

10. Anything else we need to know?
Nope, I cant think of anything. ;)

New Bunny!

Hi. We got our new bunny from Qadoshyah! He is a broken lilac. Beautiful bunny! He is so sweet! His name is Oakey. My dad named him. Sweetpea is due sometime today. She palpated positive,we just have to wait and see. I also plan to clean the rabbitry today. All the baby bunnies are doing good. Creampuff is looking so good! Oakey is gonna get 3 legs(hopefully), then we will breed him to Creampuff, and my friends Mini Lop Bambi,for our chocolate program! Im gonna go ride my horse. Bye! TTYL.

Hi. All the bunnies are doing good. Im gonna update the website tonight. My pig 4-H leader (also my neighbor), had her pig at our place. Well, today she got butchered. Sad, I know. It's nice to not have her scremaing at me though! Im glad Sassy doesnt scream at you anymore.
Im also going to add a "FAQ" page to the website. Should be pretty snazzy soon. There really isnt much to talk about. Oh, my bunny from Qadoshyah, of Hoppin Herd Of Hares, is coming in a couple days. Thanks to my friend Destiny's parents, for bringing him to me. I plan to get some legs on him, then he will become part of our chocolate program.

Hi. I got pictures of the baby Mini Lops!! They are looking better everyday! The broken chincilla, looks more shorter, and better type, then last night. Im gonna hold back the broken chincilla doe, and a gold tipped steel doe. I might hold back a buck, but most likely not. I plan on keeping the whole litter back until 12 weeks old. Anyways, here are the pics. Which ones do you like? Rember picture the broken chincilla shorter, and with more roundness. I like the darker broken gold tipped steel doe too. TTYL.

Hi. Lana, suggested I use a "E Z Mat" for when Harley returns to a wire cage. We will give it a try! I was looking at the baby picture I put up...she doesnt look AS promising as I made her sound like. That pic is out dated though. They are really looking good! I have decided to hold back the broken chincilla doe, for sure. She is beautiful!

We are getting more bunnies. Somebody called me saying, somebody had dumped bunnies at a restraunt, and the bunnies are out in all this bad weather. (How could people dump animals off?) She will call me, when she catches them. Hopefully soon, before this weather takes a turn for the worst! Anyways, im gonna go get some baby pics. Bye! TTYL.

Hi. Well, i got one picture of one of the baby Mini Lop does. She is a cutie! Im gonna go get everybodys picture in a minute. I will put the picture at the bottom of the post. All the bunnies are going good. Except for Harley. He has bad sore hocks. Im not sure why, he has a board, and a nice clean cage. Im gonna put him in one of the cages with a solid plastic bottom, until his sore hocks are gone. Anybody got any ideas for when I put him in the wire cage, once he recovers? Well, i will end this post with the picture of Secret Scores broken gold tipped steel doe. Doesnt she look promising?

Hi. I finally got the buck and doe thing resolved with the babies. Here are the results:

Secret Score X Roman: 4 Bucks, 4 Does.

Shasta X Thumper: 3 Bucks, 2 Does.

Gracy X Snickerdoodles: 4 Bucks, 3 Does.

Nakita X Snickerdoodles: 2 Bucks, 4 Does.

Overall it is a tie between the bucks and does. 13 total bucks, and 13 total does. I really like the crosses. Especially Secret Score, and Roman! I typed Secret's whole litter, and at this point, the whole litter is gonna stay back. They are all so nice!

I have decided I will keep 1 black steel looking doe from Gracy, and the whole litter from Secret Score. Of course I will only keep a few of Secret Score's babies when I make my cuts for Mini Lop Nationals.

The moms are all doing good. And the bucks too! Well, thats all for now. TTYL.
